Our Story: The Birth of TrailNote
Our Story
Every journey deserves to be remembered, and every dream destination deserves to be planned. TrailNote started as a personal attempt to connect scattered memories (photos, notes, pins) into a single, map-based notebook.
The spark
Travel creates a trail of moments: a sunrise viewpoint, a hidden cafe, a trailhead you promise to return to. But those moments often live in disconnected places: camera rolls, messages, social media, or messy notes.
I wanted a dedicated space that could:
- Capture places I have been
- Plan the places I want to go
- Connect routes and markers into coherent stories
- Share maps with friends without friction
The search
I tried many tools. Some were powerful but too complex. Others were beautiful but lacked route planning, marker management, or project organization.
From idea to product
One day the obvious thought arrived: why not build the notebook I wish existed? TrailNote began with a clear vision: it should feel lightweight, map-first, and fast, so you can focus on exploring, not configuring.
