Route Styling for Readable Maps

Route Styling: Color, Width, and Opacity

As your map grows, styling becomes the difference between readable and messy.

Color: use meaning

  • Blue: planned
  • Green: completed
  • Orange: alternatives

(Use any scheme you like, just keep it consistent.)

Width: show hierarchy

Use thicker lines for primary routes and thinner lines for variations.

Opacity: reduce clutter

Lower opacity for older or less important routes so the map stays readable.
